This three storey new build home replaced a two storey 1950’s house on Lancaster Gardens in Wimbledon Village.   Located on a sensitive site just outside a conservation area, we developed a high quality traditional design in keeping with the architectural rhythm of the street and to the satisfaction of the planning and conservation officers. 

 

The design makes the most of the site topography with a raised ground floor avoiding the need for a basement and still providing over 6000sqft of accommodation.   A feature staircase with roof lantern above brings light to the heart of the home.

 

The  house benefits from the latest building technologies being energy efficient and highly insulated, but through careful detailing and specification has an authentic traditional appearance with features such as lead roofed bay windows, well proportioned sash windows, and handmade bricks and clay tiles.
