NEW BUILD HOUSE, WIMBLEDON VILLAGE

This new build family home in the centre of Wimbledon Village combines high quality design and detailing with the latest in sustainable technologies.  Our client purchased the house as an unfinished shell, and appointed Holden Ford to overhaul and enhance the original design, improving the exterior and totally reconfiguring the interior.  

 

To the exterior we introduced traditional casement and bay windows and softened the rendered elevations with handmade mixed stock brickwork.  We introduced a large rear lightwell to bring light to the basement, and replaced a clunky bifold door system with elegant slimline aluminium sliding doors. 

 

Internally we radically altered the original floor plan, with the ground floor providing a well-proportioned formal living space to the front, and a generous family room to the rear with expansive views of the garden.   A dramatic feature staircase to the centre of the house links all floors - a large motorised rooflight above bringing light to the centre of the plan and allowing the house to breathe.
