REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSION, WIMBLEDON VILLAGE
LONDON
This beautiful family home in Wimbledon Village is the result of a considered and sympathetic refurbishment and extension of a detached Edwardian house.
The project involved a full internal refurbishment, extensions to the rear and loft, remodelling of the front façades, and new landscaping to the front and rear.
The client had recently purchased the property, one of the last original houses on a street dominated by new builds, when they first contacted Holden Ford Architects. Whilst they wanted to improve the quality and extend the amount of accommodation, they were also passionate about retaining and restoring it's Edwardian character which had been compromised over time by poorly executed works.
With our creativity, expertise in residential design and long track record of working with historic buildings, we quickly established a concept design that delighted our clients and achieved planning permission at the first time of asking. We then completed the detail design, tendered the project and oversaw it's construction on site.
In addition, Holden Ford were appointed to carry out the interior design, working closely with the client in all aspects from fitted joinery and bathrooms to flooring and cornicing.
